Aquarium of the Pacific

Devoted to the wonders of the Pacific Ocean, this non-profit building is one of the largest of its kind in the United States. It's also the only zoo or aquarium to have increased the number of visitors through its doors in the last six years, and a forerunner in the effort to run this type of attraction in a more environmentally friendly manner. Historical attractions

Long Beach has a long history composed by the interaction of many cultures, and this history can be found throughout the city. There are some beautiful Japanese Gardens at the campus of the California State University, and the original Rancho Los Alamitos still has many buildings intact. Long Beach is one of only a handful of cities in the United States to offer gondola rides within city limits. Singing pilots guide you along the canals of Naples (yes, you read that correctly!). It's a great way to spend a romantic evening.
